LBOD Water Carrier Scheme

The Left Bank Outfall Drainage (LBOD) scheme disposes of saline water in the Arabian Sea while also supplying 35 Cusecs of treated water to Thar Block II.

Segment I

Segment I comprises a 23 km CC-lined open channel from RD 364 to Nabisar for raw and brine water transportation, with pumping stations at RD 364. Nabisar features an RO treatment plant, reservoirs for raw and treated water, and a 5 MW HFO power generation facility, ensuring a reliable supply of purified water and uninterrupted power. This integrated system efficiently handles collection, treatment, storage, and power needs for water supply in the area.

Segment II

Segment II includes a 35 Cusecs pumping station at Nabisar, a 61 km underground 1200mm HDPE pipeline for water distribution, and a diesel power generation facility at Nabisar. Additionally, there is a treated water reservoir at Vajihar with a capacity of 15 days, ensuring ample storage for water supply. This segment efficiently handles pumping, distribution, and power generation, ensuring a reliable water system in the region.

Pre-treatment System

The pre-treatment system consists of a 5 MW HFO power generation system, ensuring reliable power supply. It also includes a pre-treatment system for water purification and preparation before further treatment processes. This system plays a crucial role in providing adequate power and preparing water for efficient treatment.
